Wil Wheaton

Wil Wheaton III (born July 29, 1972) is an American actor and writer. He plays John Darling – Wendy's somewhat uptight younger brother – in Damion Dietz's 2003 independent film Neverland, which updates the story to modern Los Angeles.
As an actor, Wheaton is best known for his portrayals of Gordie LaChance in the film Stand by Me (1986), Wesley Crusher on the television series Star Trek: The Next Generation (1987-1994), and prep-school rebel Joseph 'Joey' Trotta in Toy Soldiers (1991). Since then, his acting has been limited to lower-profile productions, including roles in Dietz's Fag Hag (1998), Neverland, and a recurring guest role in the online sitcom The Guild (2009).
Since Star Trek, his fame has mostly been as a writer, both online and in print. As a self-described geek (one of his books is titled Just a Geek), he has operated Wil Wheaton Dot Net, a web site where he discusses topics that interest him (books, movies, poker, geocaching), advocating free/open-source software, his libertarian political views, etc.
His credentials as both a well-known geek and an actor have resulted in him doing a fair amount of voice acting for animated superhero series on television (e.g. Aqualad on Teen Titans, Cosmic Boy on Legion of Super-Heroes, Mike Morningstar/Darkstar on Ben 10: Alien Force) and for video games (especially various Grand Theft Auto and Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon installments).
