Walt Disney's Peter Pan and Wendy

Walt Disney's Peter Pan and Wendy is a picture book adaptation of Disney's 1953 animated film, published by Simon and Schuster as part of their Little Golden Books imprint in 1952. The book manages to condense the entire film into 26 pages, each dominated (if not taken entirely) by a watercolor illustration. Not only was the story abridged to fit in the space allotted; so was the cast: the one drawing to clearly show the Lost Boys omits Nibs and Tootles (and none of the boys are named).
The credits require a bit of interpretation. J. M. Barrie is mentioned nowhere, except the fine print of the copyright notices. The book is "told by Annie North Bedford" a regular writer for the Golden Books; she composed the text, and probably specified what the illustrations should depict. The illustrations are credited only to "The Walt Disney Studio" and in smaller print, "adapted by Eyvind Earle", apparently indicating that Earle (a scenery artist and designer for the film) did these paintings, following (with some variation) the model sheets developed for the production. Perhaps not content with the small format of the book, Earle used a lot of double-page spreads, which was uncommon for the Little Golden Book series.
