Walt Disney's Peter Pan Treasure Chest is a comic book published by Dell Comics in conjunction with the release of Disney's Peter Pan in 1953. The film was in production long before its February 1953 release, and this comic book was produced in advance of that, so it has a copyright of 1952. It was a 212-page comic, priced at 50 cents. It is now rare, with copies in less-than-good condition sometimes selling for hundreds of dollars, and near-mint copies for over $1000.
The book includes a 54-page retelling of the story (based on the animated film), which is a longer version of the 32-page Walt Disney's Peter Pan also published by Dell. This is followed by a 20-page story featuring Peter, Tinker Bell, Donald Duck, and his nephew; a 12-page story about Wendy and Tinker Bell "in Pixieland" where Wendy meets other "pixies" and becomes one of them for the day; a 10-page story focusing on Smee; a 20-page story in which Peter interacts with Mickey Mouse, Goofy, Mickey's nephews, and some rather dwarf-looking gnomes; a 32-page story about the Darlings, Hook, Smee, and a talking parrot; a 12-page story about the mermaids and the Water Babies; a 12-page story about the Darling parents and Nana; and a 16-page story about John and Michale and the Indians. Between stories there are pages with suggested activities, cut-out puzzles, connect-the-dots, etc.
