Never After by Dan Elconin is book for teen readers.

It portrays Peter Pan as an evil, twisted boy who kidnaps kids with emotional problems and sucks out their souls, which keeps him young. A few of these (including the protagonist, Ricky) are saved by Captian Hooke, whose main aim is to destroy Peter. Neverland is called "The Island." At the end it is revealed that Peter (in the real world) is a thirteen-year-old murder suspect for his father, Stuart Hooke. Wendy, John and Michael aren't in the story at all, the only characters from the original are Peter, Hook (which is spelled Hooke) and Tigerlily, who is called Lily. The main characters are Alex, Nigel, Ricky, Mariah (also called Oscar) Captian Hooke and Lily.
