Margaret is the granddaughter of Wendy Darling, mentioned in passing in the final paragraph of Peter and Wendy. She is the daughter of Jane, and has adventures with Peter Pan when she is a girl. When she is grown and has a daughter, that child will do the same.

The character and story is revised for the 1991 film Hook, in which Jane's daughter is named Moira, and Peter falls in love with her, giving up his eternal youth to grow up and have children with her. One of those is a daughter Maggie, presumably with the full name Margaret. However, it may be possible that Jane had two daughters, Margaret and Moira, and that Moira named her daughter, Maggie, after the nickname that belonged to her sister.
