Ela Q. May

Ela Q. May was a young actress, who played the role of the Darling family's house servant Liza in the world premiere of Peter Pan (December 1904 – April 1905), and the revival a year later (December 1905 – February 1906). She was jokingly identified in the program (in addition to her actual role in the production) as "author of the play".
May's stage debut was in 1900 as the bridesmaid in The Wedding Guest by J. M. Barrie. She had one of the title roles in the D'Oyly Carte Opera Company's production of Ib and Little Christina (as the latter), which ran for a brief 16 performances in November 1901, then a somewhat more successful run at another theatre January-March 1904. (The role was originally played by the younger sister of later Peter Pan actress Zena Dare.) Between the productions of Peter Pan, she was in Barrie's Pantaloon, which followed the first run of Peter Pan at the Duke of York's Theatre. Her other stage credits were in The Twin Sister by Louis Parker, Merrie England by Edward German and Basil Hood, and The Holly Tree Inn by Oscar Beringer.
